Rose quartz is a pale pink to deep rose-pink massive quartz crystal. It is transparent to translucent and commonly has milk drop-like gaseous inclusions, giving the crystal a milky transparency. There are sometimes parallel needle-like inclusions, and polishing the crystal surface along the parallel inclusions results in a starlight or cat’s eye effect (Fig. 22).
