A rocky coast is a coast composed of hard rocks. It is a natural extension of mountainous hills to the sea. Rocky coasts can have steep shores and rocky cliffs, which are usually related to faulting and are often accompanied by capes, headlands and bays. Many of China’s coastal resorts are located at the bases of rocky coasts, such as Dalian, Qinhuangdao, Qingdao, Lianyungang, Xiamen and Sanya.
