This is one of the evaluation methods for tourism resources. Through detailed investigations and comparisons, the quality of landscape resources is reviewed in terms of their development values, and the overall assessment is presented using a descriptive method. The evaluation is usually summarised under the three major values of science, art and education, which can be further sub-divided into three major benefits and six conditions. The benefits are the economic, social and environmental benefits, and the six conditions are location and traffic, scenic and associated factors, tourist capacity, tourist source and market, investment and difficulties of facility construction. These factors determine the relative value of a landscape tourism resource of an area.
