Remote sensing is based on the principle that different objects respond differently to the electromagnetic spectrum, and so sensors can be used to detect the nature and characteristics of ground objects from the air and to identify various types of ground features on the ground. Aircraft, airships, drones and balloons are often used as platforms for sensors. The technical system for conducting ground observations from high altitudes is called aerial remote sensing. Aerial remote sensing can generally obtain high-resolution surface information and is an important technique for tourism planning and tourism resource development and management.
