Porphyry is an extrusive acidic rock or hypabyssal rock with a porphyritic structure. The phenocrysts can be K-feldspar, feldspathoid and quartz. The nomenclature is based on the rock types and the difference in the phenocrysts, such as granite porphyry, syenite porphyry, rhyolite porphyry and rhodochrosite porphyry. For example, the bed of the Baishuiyang River in Fujian Province is composed of syenite porphyry.
