A porphyroclastic lava is a fragmented but solid phenocryst in volcanic lava. A regenerated bead edge structure is developed at the periphery of the porphyroclast, and the matrix has the structure of glassy, fine or microscopic particles. These lavas are widely distributed in southeastern China, where they generally form rock domes.
