Plateau

A plateau is a large mountainous area with an elevation of over 1,000 m that stands above the surrounding landforms. The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the Inner Mongolia Plateau, the Loess Plateau, and the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau are the four major plateaus in China. The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is the highest plateau in the world, with an average elevation of 4,000 m.
