This geopark is located in Campania, Province of Salerno, and covers an area of 392 km2. It became a global geopark in 2010. The karst landform of the geopark comprises caves, funnels and basins. The geological relics in the area are distinctive due to the effects of tectonics, hydrogeology, and palaeo-biology. In addition to the natural beauty, the geopark also has a strong cultural and humanistic significance. Among them, the Carthus Monastery has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In addition, the park has benefited from the National Park Service of the United States, which provided funding and technical support for the park to enhance its value.
