The Palaeozoic Era refers to a geologic interval from 542 million to 251 million years ago, which covers almost 291 million years. The Palaeozoic Era includes the Cambrian, Ordovician, Silurian, Devonian, Carboniferous and Permian Periods. The Palaeozoic Erathem includes the rocks that formed during the Palaeozoic Era.
