Adventure tourism includes travel and leisure activities in unusual, exotic, remote or uninhabited destinations. It is usually connected with high-intensity outdoor activities. The most common adventure tourism activities include: (1) air activities, such as hot air balloons, hang-gliding, gliding, bungee jumping, parachuting, skydiving, and air tours by small aircraft and helicopters; (2) water activities, including river rafting, cave exploration, charter sailing, diving, motorboats, sailing, rafting, kayaking, canoeing, surfing, water skiing, and fishing; and (3) land activities, including cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, helicopter skiing, ski tours, ox-drawn carts and sleds, hunting expeditions, cable cars, mountain bikes, horse-drawn carts, hunting, mountain exploration, rappelling and rock climbing.
