An ocean park is a theme park that uses marine life, marine geology and geomorphology to provide entertainment and leisure and to popularise marine knowledge. Most are built on beaches and islands. China’s famous ocean parks include Ocean Park Hong Kong, Shanghai Ocean Park, and Dalian Old Beach Ocean Park. The coastal and island geology and landforms, particularly the coral reefs in tropical ocean parks, are research focuses of tourism earth science.
