Nahanni National Park Reserve is located along the South Nahanni River near the Yukon in the southwestern corner of the Northwest Territories, Canada. It has a core protection area of 4,765 km2 and was one of the first group of natural heritage sites inscribed on the World Heritage List. The reserve has a unique karst cave system and is one of the best destinations for rafting in North America. The reserve is home to animals of the boreal forest, and wolves, grizzly bears, caribou, wild sheep and mountain goats are found in the park’s alpine forest environment.
