Museum tourism includes tourism activities conducted in museums. Museums are non-profit, permanent institutions that serve for social development and are open to the public. Museum tourism is a new form of tourism that has gradually emerged at home and abroad in recent decades. It has elevated tourism activities from general sightseeing to recreational activities with rich cultural content. China has more than 2,000 museums. As compilations of history and culture, they have become high-quality resources that attract tourists, especially those from other cultural backgrounds. In recent years, geological museums have developed extensively, creating conditions for the public to learn more about earth science.
