Biodiversity is the variability and diversity of biological elements at different levels, such as genes, species, ecosystems and landscapes. Different levels of living groups have large variations in genetics, metabolism, physiology, morphology, and behaviour as well as differences in the compositional structure and ecological functions of the population. Species diversity is the key to biodiversity. Biodiversity research and conservation are prerequisites for the sustainable development of the biosphere. Biodiversity includes genetic diversity, species diversity and ecosystem diversity.
