This geopark is located in Fukang City, Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjing Uygur Autonomous Region. It became a national geopark in 2009. This geopark contains a glacier-dammed lake, ancient glacial landforms, ancient volcanic landforms and a geological cross-section as well as fossils of extinct species. The modern glacial landforms in Bogda are well-developed, including an intact ice tongue, glacier crevasses, rivers on the ice, tunnels under the ice, glacier holes, glacial layering, and ice mushrooms. A mountainous landscape, peak cluster and canyon landforms are also present in the volcanic terrain. The Jurassic strata contain numerous 100-million-year-old plant fossils, such as cycads, ginkgos, ancient pines, and ferns.
