Biochemical sedimentary rocks are also known as biochemical rocks and are rocks that form from the aggregation of abundant substances dissolved from weathered parent rocks (in solution or colloid form) through various biochemical functions or biological activities. These rocks often contain the bodies of organisms or biological clastic structures. The most common biochemical rocks are diatomite, reef limestone, phosphorite and coquina.
