Maoxun Chen

Maoxun Chen (1936–) is a native of Chuxiong City, Yunnan Province. He graduated from the Department of Geology, Chongqing University and is a professor grade senior engineer. He is one of the founders of tourism earth science in China. He is a consultant for the Sichuan Science and Technology Advisory Group, an expert of the Sichuan Tourism Planning and Design Institute, and a visiting professor at Chengdu University of Technology and Southwest Normal University. In the 1980s, he founded the Sichuan Tourism Earth Science Research Institute and served as the first secretary-general. He edited a collection of research papers on ‘Tourism Earth Science Research and Tourism Resources Development’, and he published ‘New Theory on Tourism Earth Science and Tourism Development’ and more than ten papers on tourism earth science.
