This is a type of ecological landscape composed of a unique plant community with evergreen shrubs or trees in tropical or subtropical coastal mudflats. The main vegetation includes Rhizophora mangle, Rhizophora mucronata, Ceriops tagal, Kandelia obovata, Bruguiera gymnorthiza and Bruguiera sexangula, which are collectively called mangroves. Mangroves have various forms and growth extents. Their unique biological and ecological characteristics create spectacular landscapes along the coast. At high tide, the seawater submerges the tree trunks and branches of the mangrove, leaving only the green crown floating on the water and forming a spectacular ‘forest on seawater’ scenery (Fig. 9).
