This geopark is situated in Luxi County, Hani-Yi Autonomous Prefecture of Honghe, Yunnan Province, and it has a total area of 38 km2. It was approved as a national geopark by the Ministry of Land and Resources in December 2011. The geological heritage of the geopark includes the multi-phased plateau, peak clusters, basin valleys, cave groups, cave and karst landscapes, multi-phase cave landscapes, surface karst landscapes, ancient planation surface features, relics of tectonic activity and palaeoenvironmental evolution, fossils, hominid sites, cave culture landscapes and geological engineering landscapes. The park systematically illustrates the evolution of multi-phase plateau peak clusters, basin valleys and cave groups and shows the linked evolutions of surface and underground karsts.
