This geopark is located in Lufeng County, central Yunnan Province. It became a national geopark in 2004. The main geological remains are fossils, including dinosaurs and Rama Gulan fossils, which are well-known around the world. There are also Lufeng Dragons (Dilophosaurus) from the Middle Jurassic and fossils of the Lufeng Archaeopteryx (apes) from the Late Miocene. In addition, the geological structures, geohazard sites, and mineral ore deposits are interesting and record the early interactions between humans and nature.
