Libo Peak Cluster Landscape, Guizhou

This area of peak clusters is a World Natural Heritage site. The main component of this landscape is the cone-like karst, which includes drumholder-like or penholder-like peak forests that are scattered on the flat bedrock surface. The cluster-like peak bases are connected and developed together with underground flows, subsurface streams, caves and cave sediments. The cone peaks have relative heights from 100 to 250 m, and the peak tops are uneven. The related depressions are deep and are having cylindrical, funnel or pot shapes of different sizes. The bottom heights vary with the exposure of the bare rocks and are associated with developed dolines and sinkholes. The height difference between the peak and depression is generally 180–300 m. As a type of peak cluster valley (polje), this valley generally has narrow but unobstructed passages. The valley bottoms are relatively flat, and there is generally no surface river.
