Lava is a rock that solidifies from the cooling of molten magma erupted onto the ground surface. Based on the SiO2 content of the bulk rock, lava can be categorised as rhyolite, andesite, basalt, and komatiite. The Yandangshan landscape in Zhejiang Province formed in rhyolite, while Wudalianchi in Heilongjiang Province is composed of basalt from volcanic eruptions.
