The Lijiang River is the most essential part of the landscape of Guilin. On rainy days, drizzle falls like smoke and mist, the mist rises from the river surface, making the mountains only partially discernible. The falling rain covers all of the mounds and rivers like a veil, creating a mood like an elegant Chinese ink landscape painting.
