This geopark is located 90 km east of Beijing and 145 km northwest of Baoding. It became a national geopark in 2004. It is characterised by a karst valley landscape. The park is located along the southern branch of the Taihangshan Fault Zone and at the northern end of the Zijingguan Fault Zone, which is indicative of intense tectonic activity. The 52-km-long Bailixia Gorge and the river erosional landscape are the most spectacular attractions of the geopark.
