This is a landform formed by the combination of mounds and unenclosed karst depressions. The mound tops are round with gentle slopes, whereas the bottoms are wider than their heights, with relative height differences of 100–150 m. This landform is mainly located in subtropical areas with muddy, siliceous, dolomitic limestone. Dissolution of this type of carbonate rock is relatively slow. This landform is well developed in dolomitic limestone outcrops in central China, western Hubei Province and northern Guizhou Province (Fig. 12).
