This park is located in Baizuo, Baijiangfang, Jiulishan and Fangzhuang in northern Jiaozuo, Henan Province, and covers an area of 10.2 km2. It was designated as one of the second group of national mining parks by the Ministry of Land and Resources in May 2010. The park has rich mining heritage resources, including five major categories: mining geological heritage, mining production heritage, mining product remains, mining social life heritage, and mining development literature and historical records. Among them are nine rare mining features and over 50 important mining features. The park contains typical ore-bearing stratigraphic sections, mine and coal seam structural profiles, and complete profiles of the coal field strata. Fenghuangshan Mountain, gullies, river valleys, the Fenghuangling faults, fault scarps and other geological landscape features as well as surface collapses, ground fissures and other geohazard features have high scientific research value.
