This park is located in Shiniugou, Xiema Village, Fuxing Town, Beibei District, Chongqing City, and it covers an area of approximately 1.8 km2. It became a national mining park in 2010. It has a long mining history that dates back to 1810. It is a unique mine that is facing a resource crisis and was the first high-quality coal demonstration base whose ownership was obtained through a court case against British businessmen. Numerous geological features and remnants of coal production and life left behind from the construction and production remain in the park. Its resource exploration, geological survey, mining technology, means of production, social life and means of transportation have been systematically preserved. With rare and valuable mining heritage, the Jianghe Coal National Mining Park is an important base in southwestern China for training, mining experiments and technological demonstrations of thin seam mining.
