Ice Cascade Landscape

This is a landscape composed of waterfall-like glacial ice on modern glaciers. When a glacier reaches a steep slope, the glacial ice will fall or slip like a waterfall, which has led to the name ice cascade. Many cracks are located above the ice cascade, whereas fallen ice is abundant below. Ice cascades can form in the middle of a glacier or in the ice tongue (Fig. 2).
