This mining park is located in Heshan City, central Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and has a total area of 18 km2. It was accredited as a national mining park in 2010. The development of the Heshan coal resources has a history of over 100 years and began in the 31st year of the Qing Emperor Guangxu (1905). The park’s geological heritage includes the Heshan Formation (Heshan coal measures), Hefei Formation of the Upper Permian Hefei Formation, the profile of sedimentary facies (Matan profile), Permian patterned oysters and fossils of Pseudotirolites cf. laibinensis. The park preserves numerous mining relics, including the lanes and ravine sites represented by the ‘Heishan No. 1 Mine’, well and lane systems, inclined shafts with hoisting systems, ground transportation, mine production equipment, ventilation, supports, production assistance systems and supporting facilities of the Heshan Coal Mine Company.
