This geopark is located in Guanling County, Guizhou Province, and became a national geopark in 2004. The ancient creatures in the geopark lived in the Triassic waters 200 million years ago. They mainly include ichthyosaurs, sea otters or syngnathus schlegeli, plesiosaurs, aegis and other marine reptiles. There are also a variety of sea lilies and ammonites, bivalves, conodonts, nautilus, brachiopods, and ancient plant fossils. The large number and variety of marine reptile fossils and sea lily fossils are very well preserved and rare, which makes this area one of the most important fossil sites in Guizhou.
