Species of the genus Stilesia are found in the intestine of ruminants and belong to the group of Anoplocephalidae (e.g., Moniezia). S. globipunctata reaches a length of 60 cm, and the terminal proglottids (Fig. 1) are 2–5 mm wide and contain two paruterine organs with many eggs, 0.25 μm in diameter. Intermediate hosts are oribatid mites.
