Definition
The Peruvian Association of Astrobiology, ASPAST (Asociación Peruana de Astrobiología in Spanish), is the first Peruvian institution dedicated to astrobiology. Founded in 2013, it includes researchers, students, and disseminators of astrobiology from all over the country. ASPAST is proud to count among its members with very committed people from different disciplines with a transdisciplinary perspective, from natural sciences to social sciences. ASPAST is a nonprofit organization that works constantly to integrate astrobiology’s goals with scientific dissemination like workshops organized in schools, the launch of stratospheric balloons for experimental purposes, as well as conducting conferences, online courses, and participation in scientific meetings.
