Abstract

An aneurysm arising from the posterior communicating artery (PcomA) was found in a 60-year-old female patient who presented with a headache and diplopia. It was treated by endovascular stent-assisted coil occlusion using a pCONus2 device in order to support the coil cast and preserve the PcomA. The patient showed a progressive clinical improvement and the follow-up DSA examination at 1 year confirmed that the aneurysm had been completely occluded and that the posterior communicating artery was still patent. The different endovascular methods available to treat this type of aneurysm in order to not only occlude the aneurysm but also to preserve the parent artery connected to the neck of the aneurysm is the main topic of this chapter.
