Definition
“Mobility, self-care, and domestic life” can be defined as a questionnaire that takes into account the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) aspects of “mobility,” “self-care,” and “domestic life” (Dahl 2002). The MOSES-patient, to be completed by the individual with a disability, contains 58 items in 12 areas: changing a body position, maintaining a body position, carrying objects, lower extremities, use of hands and arms, walking without equipment, moving about using equipment, self-care, dressing, eating and drinking, acquiring the necessities of life, and housework (Farin et al. 2007). The number of items per content area varies from 3 to 8; each item is scored on a 5-point Likert scale ranging from severely limited to no limitation. Higher scores suggest less disability.
