Schizophrenia, other psychotic disorders, acute mania, and autism-related irritability in children
Off-Label Use
Bipolar maintenance, bipolar depression, behavioral disturbances in the elderly and children, Tourette syndrome, and PTSD
Side Effects
Serious
Hyperglycemia with some cases of ketoacidosis, hyperosmolar coma, or death; cerebrovascular events in the elderly; and neuroleptic malignant syndrome and seizures (rare)

Weight gain and metabolic syndrome, dose-dependent extrapyramidal symptoms, hyperprolactinemia, dizziness, constipation, dry mouth, abdominal pain, nausea, rare...
