Introduction
William M. Pinsof is a prominent family psychologist who has been an outstanding theorist, researcher, and practitioner. He nurtured the Family Institute at Northwestern into prominence and is best known for his work on the integrative systemic therapy (IST) model and the measures the Systemic Therapy Inventory of Change (STIC) and the Integrative Psychotherapy Alliance Scales.
Career
William Pinsof received his PhD in clinical psychology from York University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He subsequently joined the staff of the Family Institute of Chicago (later the Family Institute at Northwestern) in the 1970s and became the President of the Family Institute in 1986. In 1990 he transformed and reorganized the Family Institute of Chicago into The Family Institute at Northwestern University.
