Steven J. Wolin, M.D.

Introduction

Steven Wolin is well known for his contributions around alcohol abuse, alcoholism, codependence, and resilience, in teens, to the field of family therapy. More specifically, he has explored family therapy techniques with couples, families, children, and teens struggling with the family disease of substance and/or alcohol problems, and an application of resilience to those facing adversities.

Career

Dr. Wolin obtained his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1966, in addition to completing a specialization in psychiatry from 1967 to 1970. He is currently in Washington D.C. as a clinical professor of psychiatry for George Washington University Medical School, while he maintains a private practice as well as other academic posts.
