Introduction

Dr. Jill M. Hooley is a professor of psychology at Harvard University and also the head of the experimental psychopathology and clinical psychology program at Harvard.

Career

Dr. Jill Hooley has a very interesting and highly accomplished background in psychology that is difficult to cover in a brief biography. Dr. Jill Hooley was born in Cheshire, England, and attended Cheadle Hulme School. She later graduated from the University of Liverpool where she received a B.Sc. in Psychology. Dr. Hooley continued her education by conducting research at Cambridge University studying social relationships in rhesus monkeys. She then attended Magdalen College, Oxford, UK, where she completed her Doctorate (D.Phil.) studying the link between family criticism and depression. In 1983 she moved to the United States to gain additional experience (re-specialization) in clinical psychology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
