Definition
Organizational Ihsan behavior, as the current entry defines it, is a virtue-based discretionary behavior enhancing the welfare of organization and its members.
Introduction
Like Judaism and Christianity, Islam believes, the latter shares similarities in terms of virtues promoting human welfare. “Lo! Allah enjoineth justice and kindness, and giving to kinsfolk, and forbiddeth lewdness and abomination and wickedness. He exhorteth you in order that ye may take heed.” (Qur’an 16:90). Ihsan (where its meaning was translated to kindness) is a virtue Islam much considers.
The current entry translates this virtue into a conceptual multidimensional model of what one might call organizational Ihsan behavior (henceforth, OIB) and gives it meaning within the organizational context from the Islamic perspective.
