Mutually beneficial relationship between individuals, individuals and an organization, several organizations, and countries.

Introduction

Trust is a complex and multidimensional concept that is either interpersonal, institutional, or organizational in nature (Krot and Lewicka 2012). Krot and Lewicka (2012) expanded on this and pointed out that there were different dimensions of trust (e.g., competence, benevolence, and integrity) and several types of trust (e.g., horizontal or lateral trust between co-workers and vertical trust between employees and managers). Based on Krot and Lewicka (2012), trust was thus an important component of professional relationships between co-workers as well as between managers and employees.
