Definition

The intentional apparent attribute of an individual’s character which is honestly experienced and thoughtfully shared with others. Genuineness is not spurious or counterfeit; rather it is characterized by realness and sincerity and is independent of hypocrisy. Genuineness is perceived by self and others as the unadulterated and congruent external display of an individual’s actual internally recognized values, beliefs, emotions, and other perceptions of themselves including the world they exist in.
