Introduction

Throughout the long career of Thomas C. Todd, PhD, he has combined the worlds of psychology and CFT, integrating research, training, writing, teaching, and academic administration, with clinical practice. He has received national and international recognition for his research and writing, particularly in the area of CFT of substance abuse and systemic supervision. Todd published widely recognized books in each area, and received significant awards for his contributions in both of these areas from prominent CFT professional organizations.

Career

Todd discovered CFT in the 1960s while in psychology graduate school at New York University. He eagerly went to the Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic to work with Salvador Minuchin, Jay Haley, Harry Aponte, and Cloe Madanes, while also studying psychotherapy research.
