Institutions of higher education are considered to be very dynamic and competitive on regional, national, and international levels and are among the first to react and adapt to the challenges of globalization. Creation of new knowledge and technologies on national and international levels, continuous development of new and advanced teaching/learning methods, as well as changes in institutional management let the institutions of higher education to be in avant-garde of society and its progress. Higher education plays a key role in the promotion of skills that allow graduates to be successful when dealing with the challenges of sustainable development (Wiek et al. 2011).
