Eutrophication is an excess of nitrogen, phosphorus and other plant nutrients caused by water pollution. Due to excessive eutrophication of inorganic nutrients, algae will multiply and consume the oxygen in the water until it is depleted, and as a result, the oxygen depletion would lead to deterioration of water quality and pose threats to fish and other aquatic life.
