Dinosaurs laid eggs to reproduce. When preserved, their eggs became egg fossils, which range from 3 cm to 56 cm in diameter. Egg fossils are usually oval and rounded, but some are elongated, elliptical and olive-shaped. Fossil eggs containing embryos are the most precious type. China’s dinosaur egg fossil resources are some of the world’s richest. These fossils have attracted the world’s attention in terms of their quality and quantity. Important fossil sites are Nanyang in Henan Province; Nanxiong, Shixing, Huizhou and He Yuan in Guangdong Province; Xinfeng and Ganzhou in Jiangxi Province; Laiyang in Shangdong Province; Sichuan Province; Inner Mongolia; Yixing in Jiangsu Province; and Yunxia County in Hubei Province (Fig. 17).
