Datun Volcanic Cluster Landscape

This cluster is Taiwan’s famous volcanic landscape and is located at the northwestern end of Taiwan Island adjacent to Taipei. The cluster is composed of more than 20 round volcanic cones. Among them, the Qixingshan Volcano has an elevation of 1,120 m. The Datun Volcano is 1,081 m above sea level and has four parasitic volcanoes inside it. The Miantianshan Volcano has two connected craters in a complete funnel-like shape. The lava flows of the Quanyinshan Volcano and Datun Volcano blocked the Danshui River, forming the splendid scenery of Guandu. The Datun volcanic cluster formed from the end of the Neogene to the Quaternary. This cluster is rich in geothermal resources and hot springs, and the temperature ranges from 30 °C to the boiling point.
