A tourist guide is someone who has obtained a Tour Guide Certificate according to the applicable regulations and has been appointed by a travel agency to provide tourists with guidance, introductions and other related tourism services. Tour guides in China are divided into four categories: tour managers (international tour guides), full itinerary guides, local guides and scenic area guides. Electronic guides, as opposed to human tour guides, are electronic tour systems and devices that can be used to improve upon the original human interpretations.
