This park is located in the centre of Tangshan City and is mainly composed of Tangshan Mine and Dananhu Park (a former coal mining and processing area). It covers an area of 1.15 million m2. It was approved by the Ministry of Land and Resources in August 2005 as one of the first group of national mining parks. The main scenic site is divided into three parts: an exploration of the mining area, an earthquake experience area, and the coal mine town. It is composed of mining and cultural exposition areas, a mining heritage display area, the underground production experience area (underground exploration tour), a cultural and creative leisure area (Kailuan magic land) and other scenic sites.
