Taï National Park, which is located along the border near Liberia in southwestern Ivory Coast, is surrounded by the Guiglo Reservoir and crisscrossing rivers, and it has an area of 3,300 km2. This park is one of the last major remnants of the primary tropical forest in West Africa. Its rich natural flora and threatened mammal species, including the pygmy hippopotamus and 11 species of monkeys, are of great conservation value and scientific interest.
