This block was named by Huang Jiqing in 1945 and 1980 as the ‘Sino-Korea Platform’ and ‘Sino-Korean Paraplatform’, respectively. It is equivalent to the North China Platform. Some researchers believe that it should be called the ‘Sino-Korean Block’ because older rock systems have been exposed from eastern Hebei Province to North Anshan in northern China.
